An up-coming project PVAC . . .
An evolving Stylized Documentary about what the mental imagery of one artist might look like, how it inspires passion for the subject of a developing conceptual arts project, and the idea is of how art is an inseparable part of his life as he takes a journey through his artistic process inspired by the subject “the dancer’s foot project”.

I’ve always felt dancer’s feet were the most beautiful feet in existence . . .
. . . I realize they aren’t necessarily “perfect” in the aesthetic, “well pedicured” sense of what beauty is commonly considered to be.
For me, I see something to love that goes beyond this, perhaps an inner beauty of sorts. I see beauty in the inherent balance that exists with dancers feet. I see this balance to be in the beauty of their form, and the beauty of their function.
I love the “Form” of the line of nicely “ballet-arched” feet, the visible result of the many years of hard work and dedication that happens to feet as they learn a discipline that can also visually present itself in a beautiful way.
The beauty of the “Function” is that dancer’s feet are unique in being able to do things that most feet simply cannot do. I also love the physical imperfections that tend to go with dancer’s feet. The Callusing, the slight bunion profile (actually, I think this specific feature tends to make a more dramatic toe point than a foot without), the over-developed muscular lines.
It’s the lack of so-called “aesthetic perfection” that I think gives dancers feet its perfectly balanced character and beauty.
To me, this is the essence of what dancer’s feet are.
Being a custom Pointe shoe maker & designer, a foot care physiologist (specializing in dancers foot care), and visual artist, I’ve worked with many professional dancers over the last 19 years.
I know many dancers see beauty in dancers feet in the many similar ways as just described. Interestingly, I’ve also found many dancers don’t always feel anyone other than fellow dancers could appreciate and love their feet that way. (Personally, I would like this to be proven otherwise as I think many would and do love dancers feet).
In fact, I come across dancers that are kind-of self conscious about the “appearance” of their feet, in part, because of the very characteristics mentioned before, though, another reason for the self conscious predisposition is because of a lack of proper development of their feet into the ideal “ballet-arched” line, but that’s not what I’m referring to in this context.
I’ve maintained that people other than dancers, love, and think dancers feet are beautiful. I’ve seen what I believe to be very convincing evidence of this to be the case, and so I decided several years ago to begin a dancer’s foot project to bring together such people (both dancers and those that are not dancers) that love these uniquely gifted feet.
Over time, this “dancer’s foot project” has evolved (as visual arts projects often do), and today I’ve accumulated what I believe to be the definition of what this project is supposed to be.
Let me explain a little bit of my definition:
One of the things I’ve learned over the years while working with dancer’s is that their feet are essentially considered to be likened as “a tool”, that is used to create dance interpretation. I don’t have a problem with that, but I wanted to do something that focuses on dancers feet as more of the focus of the art as it relates to the dancer (but not to the exclusion of the rest of the dancer).
I think there is an audience that would love to see this idea take shape and bond with the idea of dancers feet being the direct subject of the art more so than being a part of an overall concept, and so, I’ve been developing this idea over the last several years and I think I’m getting there.
This visual arts company PVAC is purposed to help me achieve such presentations. Ironically, here is where we “begin” a journey that has actually evolved over the last nine years, and continues to take shape today! I’ve enjoyed this journey and the evolution of the project so far. I’ve learned much about myself and others, I’ve confirmed much about myself and others. I know that to do this project means a willingness to open my deepest insides out to the world and take all that comes with doing that.
I admit that’s scary for me as it is not my nature to be like that (thought I like the romantic idea of it), but, I try to remind myself that every time I hear from someone out there that understands and feels the way I do, or appreciates the work we are doing here, I know that it’s worth the scariness.
So, if you are one of those that love dancer’s feet as well, I would like to hear from you. I suppose that could say that it would be good for you to make your voice heard in support of this, but you would actually be doing me an act of kindness, one that would not go unappreciated. I know that’s a bit selfish, but it’s honest. Perhaps the work of this project is my atonement for such selfishness. but still, I am curious as to how many of us are out there, so, please, send an EMAIL, or, send a response to our blog on our gallery at DEVIANTART, or post a shout out at our YOUTUBE Channel, let us know you’re alive, it would be great to hear from you.
As we present our visual ideas feel free to give feedback, suggestions and special requests, besides, it’s an evolving and learning process for me, I don’t try to take myself too seriously and I try to reflect that in this project, but I’m having fun working on it too, and that’s really the main idea.
I truly thank you for tolerating some of my “very long” story.
